Starting out as a guitar player, learning a few basic chords and strumming patterns is important. Pick a few major chords that are easiest for you to play and practice changing between them and transitioning back and fourth between the chords. For most people this isn't too much of a problem and can be learned within a few days of practicing. Some people learn quite quickly while other people may take more time. Everyone is different, but practicing is important! You can't improve or learn without putting in some practice time.

Once you have 3 chords learned and a simple DUDUDUDU strumming pattern. You can play a lot of songs!

Country music is great for beginners and a lot of country songs consist of only 2, 3 or 4 chords and can be easy to learn!
